Intermediate Interior Designer – West Hollywood

International luxury design firm is recruiting for a highly creative, dynamic, innovative, motivated, committed, all-around Intermediate Interior Designer/Architect to join our Los Angeles studio. The successful person will work on exclusive and luxury residential, hospitality and commercial projects.

The candidate will have strong conceptual and outstanding presentation skills, and good knowledge of space planning and interior architectural detailing. Candidates need to be able to work in an office that has a casual corporate culture with a collaborative team approach. Candidates will be completely familiar with the interior design process from pre-design through design development, material research and selection and bespoke FF&E, through VE process and construction administration and closeout phases.

The candidate should be a US national or have a current work visa for the US.

Education and Experience:
You must have a bachelor of architecture, a bachelor of science in architecture or similar, with 5 years minimum post-graduate experience.

Role Outline:
As an Intermediate Designer, you will have experience in high-end luxury residential interiors, but we work on a wide ranging portfolio covering all sectors including residential, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings and private members’ clubs. You will work closely with a team of skilled designers and technical architects, all of whom are led by an associate director. You are expected to be ‘hands-on’ and collaborative in your approach whilst using your initiative to complete tasks with a calm natured response.

Required Skills:
• Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
• Proven experience in dealing with clients, contractors and other suppliers in a highly professional manner
• Proven experience in developing residential and hospitality planning applications and a working comprehensive knowledge of US/City building and ADA codes
• Proven experience in space planning of both residential and hospitality projects
• Proven knowledge in preparing drawing packages at each design phase and thorough completion of schedules (lighting, power, plumbing, equipment, hardware, etc.)
• Proven working knowledge of new build construction and renovation projects
• Proven experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office (Excel, etc.)
• Ability to advise clients on all technical aspects of a design project
• Self-motivated but also a good team member who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organized manner
• Self-confident and able to cope with constructive criticism of your work
• Organised, and able to manage your time effectively, whilst mentoring junior team members
• Exceptional attention to detail of complex millwork, architectural finish transitions and custom furniture
• Experience in construction administration phase, coordinating and communicating with GC and other trades at site
