Healthcare Project Architect - Santa Monica, California

Company Overview:
National award-winning firm is a leading architectural, engineering and planning firm with an excellent opportunity in our Santa Monica office for a Project Architect delivering acute and specialized healthcare architecture and interiors.

Responsibilities:
• The Project Architect works under the direction of a Senior Project Architect to produce one or multiple projects. Scope of responsibility on large projects may be focused on a single OSHPD package such as core/shell or production of tenant improvement design.
• Translates design into construction and works closely with the Project Designer to develop and validate design strategies within the context of engineering, code, cost and constructability constraints.
• Works closely with the Project Manager to define tasks and deliverables in all phases of work and will assist the Project Manager in developing the appropriate schedule for delivering the work.
• Interacts and communicates effectively and professionally with other team members.
• Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of product, recognizes problem issues, communicates impact to team and seeks clarity when necessary.
• Assists Sr. Project Architect in submitting, implementing OSHPD comments and obtaining approval.
• Meets project design schedule and design construction budgets.
• Assists with cost estimates and evaluation of bids with project manager.
• Assists with the preparation of analyses including alternates or substitutions to reduce costs.
• Assures execution of, and assists with, quality control activities for architectural elements on a project.
• Reviews drawings, documents and submittals for design intent compliance and code compliance.
• Responds to RFI’s and issues revisions to contract documents as necessary during construction.

Requirements:
• Master’s degree in architecture, accredited professional program
• Current California architect’s license
• Current LEED accreditation
• Proficiency with Revit is required
• Demonstrated proficiency with, SketchUp, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrated application of OSHPD regulations as related to construction documents, permit procurement and related construction phase activities
• Demonstrated experience organizing and producing design and construction documents for core and shell and tenant improvement projects with minimum construction cost of $100 – 500 million
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate and produce detailed construction documents for exterior and interior building systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead the production team on day to day Revit assignments/tasks.
